WILW :]

It's that time again..What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I found these jeans on oldnavy.com & they are exactly what I'm looking for! Not to mention, they have them in about 6 other colors!

I have no idea where to get this dress. I saw it on Pinterest but it's adorable.

I am NO WHERE NEAR ready for a child but I just couldn't pass up the chance to post this maternity picture!

I must have this in my home. Picture from your first dance.

This isn't cute or anything but I LOVE that gas prices don't cost me an arm, leg, or first born anymore! I got it for $3.09 this morning :]

I found this on Tumblr. It's one of my favorite verses.

And lastly, these pillowcases! LOVE!

15 days until John's graduation! and hopefully a letter will come today!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hi everyone! I know it's still early but I hope you're having fabulous Wednesdays so far! Here are a few things I'm loving this week:

This picture of Bristol cracks me up. I've never seen her do this before. I'd like to think she's smiling at me hahaha

I got to see this lovely lady on Friday! Who doesn't love Miranda Lambert??

The countdown is down to 22 days!!!! I can't wait to see John :]

I LOVE these monogrammed coozies! So cute for summer!

I really need to get this for my apartment so John & my brother will take off their boots :]

I LOVE these mason jars dipped in glitter! Two of my favorite things combined into one!

Instead of going to the lake, I'll be makin' money @ Colonial all weekend. Whoop Whoop!

call me..maybe?

I've been told by all the Navy mommas, girlfriends, and wives that you get 3 phone calls during boot camp: one when they get there, one about 3 weeks later, and the "I'm a sailor" call after Battlestations. Having received the first 2, I just assumed it would be another 2 weeks or so before I got a call. Much to my surprise, I got a call on Sunday!! We got to talk for 27 minutes :]

His division is doing awesome! They have earned 6 flags so far(academic, athletic, etc.) and he passed all his PT tests. They earned this call from having a perfect inspection.

He was in such great spirits and so excited to get started with Hell Week. This is the week where they complete their firefighting courses and get ready for Battlestations(final test). I asked him what he wanted me to bring him to graduation. He said he wanted dip(chewing tobacco, not cheese dip haha). Not shocking to those that know him. He said he's dying without it haha. Poor thing. He also said he'd like to take a normal shower, without 80 other guys. Understandable.

He will be in Great Lakes for another 14 weeks after graduation and then he'll be headed to Groton, CT for the last 7 weeks. I can't wait for this process to be over so he can find out which duty station he's been assigned to.

Here are the possible places he could be stationed.
I haven't decided where I hope he gets to go. Wherever he is is where I'll be so I guess it doesn't matter. "Home is where the Navy sends us." I'm beginning to realize that a lot more recently.

I hope y'all are having a great Tuesday :]

Grown Up..But Not

Today I'm going to be philosophical and share a struggle I've been going through ever since I can remember.

I have a HUGE fear of confrontation. I will do anything to avoid a fight or even a possible fight with someone, whether it is family, friends or strangers. I don't know what it is but my whole body tenses up and I get a really bad headache.

I've been taught my entire life to be kind to others and accomodate others but what I wasn't taught was how to stand up for myself when I didn't agree with something or even ask a question to someone I wasn't familiar with. It was never really that big of an issue until I got into my late high school years and people picked up on this characteristic and started treating me like a doormat.

Nowadays, any time a girl/woman stands up for herself, she's called a b**ch and guys are called a**holes. Sometimes it is deserving but other times they are just trying to get their way of thinking across. I guess I've just been so afraid of being called this name that I always back down and think that whatever I'm having to deal with isn't that bad.

A friend has been pushing me to stand up for myself and telling me it's not wrong and it has been truly eye-opening. I guess all it took was someone else believing the same thing I did and having courage to do something about it. Now I'm not saying that my problem is cured and I'm just going to be open about everything I think is wrong but I think I'll do a little better now in expressing my opinions in a very calm and adultlike manner.

Okay, rant over haha

On another note, I'm starting Bikram Yoga tonight! I'm so excited to try something new. I'm sure it'll kick my butt but it'll all be worth it :]

best. day. ever.

I'm so excited that I can barely type!!!!!!!!!! Most of you already know because I definitely Instagram'd, Tweeted and Facebooked about it already haha

I got a call from John yesterday!
Here's the story: I was packing up to leave work (it was 4:55) and my phone started buzzing. Usually I don't pay much attention because it's always my mother but I just glanced to see who it was and it was an 847 area code with Waukegan, IL ID. I definitely screamed. Thank goodness everybody was gone already :]

I said hello & he said hey baby & I started crying. I couldn't help it. You would do the same thing if you hadn't talked to your significant other for a month. He's doing okay, just missing home. I have to admit I wasn't listening that carefully to what he was saying, just enjoying hearing his voice. He thought he had an hour to talk but after 18 short minutes, the RDC's started screaming "30 SECONDS!" so he had to go.

My heart was literally beating out of my chest. I got home, checked the mail, and had another letter! That makes 3 that I've gotten so far. He laughed when he was telling me the first time he got mail that he had 15 letters from me haha whoopsies.

I am so in love with this boy. I can't even describe it. I feel like we're living Dear John or The Notebook (without breaking up of course :] )

Thank you to all my friends and family that have been there for me through this rough transition. He still has 5 1/2 more weeks but we're almost halfway! Keep the prayers coming, especially for him.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm back for What I'm Loving Wednesday! yayyy!

This quote by Mother Teresa, my idol. I wish I could do half as much good as she did in her long life.

Planning my future wedding. It's become a problem. I should probably delete my Pinterest account. This flower girl is the definition of adorable.

Vanilla Starbucks DoubleShot Energy=LOVE.

Oatmeal Squares cereal is the BEST cereal I've ever had. Seriously. You should try it.

I've shared my love for Luke Bryan before but Kip Moore is in the running. I listen to this on repeat.

And last but not least, my go-to song for when I'm missing John. We saw Brantley Gilbert & Eric Church in Jonesboro and it was AMAZING. I love this song on the CD but he sounded great doing it live.

That just about sums up WILW :] Hope everyone has a fabulous day. In the words of Ellen, "Be kind to one another."

remember to smile. always.

It's been about a week since I've blogged. I've had a really rough week. One of my best friends/sorority sister, Sydney Sloan, passed away last Wednesday. I drove to Knoxville for her candlelight vigil which was both heartbreaking and amazing at the same time. To see all those people there for Syd was beautiful. She truly was the definition of life. She always wore a smile and always had the best advice. As gorgeous as she was on the outside, she was twice as beautiful on the inside. She recently returned from Camp Koinonia, a camp for special needs children, where she spent a week working with the kids. I could go on and on with all the memories I have of her but I'll just share a few.

This is one of the first times I ever hung out with Sydney.
Lambda Chi Watermelon Bust 2009

Ignore the brown hair haha
Sigma Kappa Spring Formal 2010

All 3 of these are from Summer 2010 :] Best. Summer. Ever.

I will forever remember this philanthropy event. Called to standards for drinking hahaha
Sigma Kapture the Flag 2010

The result of "pregaming" HOURS before the football game. #drinkdrankdrunk

One of our MANY nights out.
July 2011

I have tons more but I'll stop there. I love you sweet girl and I will always remember to smile even when times are tough because that's what you taught me. Rest in Peace Sydney Rae.

She loved this song & wanted it sang at her last Preference party during recruitment. It couldn't be more perfect. It gives me chills.

life is short.

life is short, but sweet for certain. -DMB

At this point, I'm numb. It's not real.

John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”

Wednesday=LETTER DAY!

I don't know if you can tell how excited I am or not but today I should (fingers crossed) be getting a letter from John! I can't wait to hear from him. It's been WAAAAYY too long :] I decided to not do What I'm Loving Wednesday this week since this is all I'm focused on right now haha
(this is just a picture from Bing. I can't write that fancy haha)
