Fill In the Blank Friday

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is, check my phone and take Bristol outside

2.   I can hardly wait for  June 15. Can it get here quicker please? I need a hug & a kiss from my sweet boy.

3.  The quickest way to my heart is letting me control the TV  because sometimes I don't want to watch wrestling hahaha.

4. A little known fact about me is that I let other people's opinions form my own a little too often. I am learning slowly but surely how to ignore what others say & accept what I think whether it is PC or not.

5. The best part about my job is the pay. I really don't like my actual job but the pay keeps me here. It's a sad world we live in where we have to do something we don't like just to be able to pay bills.

6. Something I just couldn't live without is my puppy. She takes up all my free time since John left and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is sew. I really want to learn how.

Happy Thursday :]

Hello everyone! I am feeling VERY chipper this morning so I thought I would share why with you. Last night, I had dinner with my friend Chris' mom. It's not random I swear haha Chris, John, and I are very close and his mom is one of my former bosses. With Chris and John both in the Navy, along with Chris' dad, it gives us a TON in common since she's been through it all on the girlfriend/wife side and the mom side. We went to Kooky Canuck in Downtown Memphis. I've never been before but it was AMAZING. We ended up taking more than half of our food home! Anyways, back to the point, she was asking me how I was doing not just with John but with work and just life in general. When I told her that I had been feeling depressed she told me to picture seeing him for the first time after bootcamp and getting to hug him and kiss him and just be in his presence again. It immediately brought a smile to my face. She still remembers seeing her husband the first time after bootcamp back in 1985. That's something. She & her husband met when they were 15 and got married at 17. The odds were certainly stacked against them but they are still together and completely in love. This gives me hope for a long and healthy relationship after being surrounded by divorce in half the marriages in America.
She also told me that once I started looking toward the future with positive thoughts, the rest of my life would start to seem positive again. I am really not a fan of my job but I am blessed in this economy to have one at all which is what I thought to myself this morning when my alarm was blaring instead of "Oh my gosh, another day of doing work I hate." I have also been missing my sisters in Knoxville a lot lately. I guess it's because spring semester is packed with philanthropy events and formals. I'm starting to realize that just because my college years are over doesn't mean that my fun is. Just because I have a "big girl job" and am a sorority alum doesn't mean that I can't grab a drink every now & then or treat myself to a movie. I have to find entertainment in different ways.
All this positive thinking has really lifted my mood this morning and I hope I can continue to remember how blessed I am. This bootcamp experience is just a short time, my job is not permanent, and life is constantly changing. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone :]

Fill In the Blank Friday

This is my first Fill In the Blank Friday but I'm excited for another theme day :]

1.  Today is a great day because,   I get to go to the lake after work! & it's one day closer to seeing John :] .

2.   Tomorrow I will   do absolutely nothing! I plan on laying out and relaxing   .

3.  My favorite time of day is     anytime after 5       because     that means I'm off work  .
4. Sometimes you just have to     let Jesus take the wheel. Carrie Underwood was right.

5. A song that I just can't get enough of lately is    "Call Me Maybe". Yeah, I'm one of those girls. And also anything Brantley Gilbert.

6. My favorite accessory is    I have several: my anchor bracelet that hasn't left my arm since I got it, my Pandora bracelet, and my heart necklace.
7.  My favorite thing about this week was   getting through it. It's Friday. That's all that matters.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm participating in What I'm Loving Wednesday this week! Who knew something so simple could bring a smile to my face :]

The first thing I'm loving is One Tree Hill. I'm a little late on the bandwagon but Netflix has opened up my eyes to this awesome (& time consuming) show.

I'm also loving this sweatshirt I bought yesterday. It's exactly what I was looking for and was not $40 like all the rest that I found.

It's not for sure yet but I'm excited at the possibility of going to the lake house in Pickwick this weekend! I haven't been there since Labor Day. It's such a great place to go drink a margarita, lay out, ride 4-wheelers, and enjoy the silence.

Fairy & Berry Frozen Yogurt Cafe in Southaven is AMAZING! They must know that strawberry & cheesecake are my go-to flavors because they have them in the same machine so I can mix them together hahaha Such a silly thing but it's so cute.

I've always loved him but I love him now more than ever. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Luke Bryan :] (cover your keyboards. may cause excessive drooling.)

I was talking with my mom last night while watching Dance Moms: Miami and I think I would be really great at designing dancewear for girls. Being a former dancer, I know what is comfortable, what fabrics ride up or shrink in the wash, etc. I would love to be able to design items such as these.
Maybe this is something I can pursue in the future :]

Happy Wednesday, y'all! And thank you to all of you who have been praying for me & for John. It's really hard but we'll make it through :]

Anchors Aweigh

I will make this post short & sweet as to not ramble on and on with how much I miss John. Since he left on Wednesday, I have written him 6 letters. I won't know his address until "the box" comes. For those of you unfamiliar with the Navy, "the box" is like gold. It is all their civilian belongings that they took with them. His clothes, cell phone, and even underwear come back. There is also a letter, sometimes inside & sometimes separately, that comes with their address, graduation date, and a little message from the sailor at the bottom. According to my research, if they come separately, the box usually comes a few days after they leave (which should be today or tomorrow) and the letter comes shortly after that. His graduation date is expected to be June 8 if it is exactly 8 weeks out. I'm so excited that I can barely contain myself. I have been spending a LOT of time with my mom to pass time quicker. I am having dinner with his mom and stepdad tomorrow so we can all vent and catch up. I ordered a NAVY sweatshirt today. I know it's almost summer but my apartment is freezing :] The thing I am most excited for right now is receiving the first letter and the first (little bit longer) phone call. I am pathetically listening to a voicemail he left me that I saved just to hear him say "I love you" to me over and over. I know, sad, right? Judge me.

I'm joining the gym down the street from my apartment and looking into pilates classes so I can be in tip top shape for when I see him again :] I've already lost 5 pounds since Wednesday. Woohoo!

It's Thursday...

Hi everyone. I apologize for my lack of blogging but I have been busy spending all my time with John. He left yesterday for bootcamp. I got 2 calls from him last night, one for 25 seconds when he got to the O'Hare airport and one for 15 seconds when he actually made it to bootcamp. I'm so glad I got to hear his voice twice more before this long stretch of silence. I even have a voicemail saved just so I can listen to it when I feel sad. I probably won't be doing much blogging for a little while just because I kind of feel numb. I am focusing all my energy on writing letters to him. I am writing at least once a day, sometimes maybe more than one if I finish one and then think of other things to say. I really don't know how I'm going to make it even an hour without crying but my mom & one of my best friends, Lyndsay, have been so great. I would be completely lost without them. I know this is whiny and boring but I just feel a little better venting on here.

This is us at his going away party last Saturday. He even got a little emotional towards the end. Maybe I'm not the only emotional one here.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

My boss is out of the office today so I can spend a little extra time on this post without having to constantly minimize my screen :]

I'm loving that I took 2 of my "vacation" days to spend with John this week. He leaves for bootcamp Wednesday (4/11) so I wanted to spend a little extra time with him. We went to Jerry's Sno Cones(fave) on Monday and just sat around after we decided to run yesterday haha I'm also taking off Tuesday & Wednesday to spend more time with him & watch him swear in. That reminds me, I need to get some waterproof mascara/eyeliner for that hahaha

One of my sisters "pinned" this & I can't get enough of how perfect these vows are.
We saw The Vow on Valentine's Day & LOVED it. I will definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

Okay so this is super random but PINK LEMONADE! I know I wrote a post about my pink lemonade fudge but one of my friends had a bridal shower this weekend and I'm pretty sure I drank the entire pitcher of pink lemonade. It must be the spring in the air.
 This is me & Tandi(bride) :]

Since John is getting ready for bootcamp, we have started running(occassionally together) and I have really started enjoying it. It's the initial getting out the door I still have trouble with but I think that will fade in time.

SUNDRESSES! Who doesn't love something cute that's easier to wear than jeans? It's spring and the sundresses are back!
This one is from Macy's. Only $21.99! So cute!

Another thing I love to do is decorate my imaginary home on Pinterest.
We all do it. Harmless. My future home is going to be decorated beautifully. So exciting.

LAKE SEASON!
I'm going to convince my mom that I need this so we can lay out together & drink margaritas. Look at all those drink holders! I don't think it'll take much convincing.

Well that's all for now! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
